Design Development and Details
Once the design has taken shape, the actual construction materials and methods are studied. The interior and exterior spaces are developed, and the details of the architecture are defined. Actual products and systems, healthy-built checklists, heating and cooling approaches, framing and finishes, and a listing of materials in an outline specification format are cataloged, and preliminary pricing is pursued with a general contractor. Once this input is received, final decisions about the building design are made in preparation for the construction documents phase.
